Because of this, they thought they were too powerful. They believed that no one in Nepal could ever challenge them. They felt completely safe inside their big offices.The old leaders did not understand the power of the internet. They thought protests only happen when old political parties plan them. They expected traditional strikes on the roads. But Gen Z did not use traditional political parties. Instead, they used private Discord groups and WhatsApp chats. They used VPNs to bypass the internet block and talk online. The government’s police did not know how to track these hidden digital networks. The old leaders laughed at the online anger at first. They called it a minor issue. They did not see the big storm coming to destroy them.

On March 27, 2026, Balen Shah was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Nepal.
The Situation in Nepal Today
